How to stay organized as a WAHM

Do you have to find you keyboard before you can start work for the day? Do you have receipts laying around everywhere until you get a chance to enter their data? Ever sought a phone number you distinctly remember writing somewhere? If you suffer from this lack of organization, here are some ideas to remedy it.

It is a known fact that you will be more productive if your work area is organized. By becoming and remaining organized you will get more work done in less time. Of course you will, your keyboard will always be on top, no more receipts to sift through, and that number is right in your address book or contact list! How great would this be?

Do you have Microsoft Outlook? Not only can you receive emails with this program, you can create a calendar, to do list, contact phone numbers, email addresses and much more. You can even synchronize your MP3 player to Microsoft Outlook and constantly have this information at hand whenever you need to reference it!

If you are still more comfortable with the manual operation of things. You can get a daily planner to schedule your time and to do list. There are many styles to choose from that are certain to suit your needs. You will also want to get a Rolodex or address book to keep track of all your contact's pertinent information. You want to ensure these two things are always with you. Get in the habit of writing the information once where you are certain you will easily find it in either of these accessories.

April 15th is the last day to submit your income taxes. One way to keep track of your receipts is to get manila folders and label them with each month. As you get your tax deductible receipts, since file them into the appropriate file. As the month comes to an end, simple review the folder and get a total of the deductions. You can write the totals right on the folder cover and when tax time rolls around you are organized and stress free. This is the best tip – usually in December you are rushing to make sure you have the appropriate receipts and on a mad hunt to make sure you have all of them.

Simply taking a few minutes each day to keep this aspect of your life organized, will have a huge impact on your life. When you are organized and stress free, you will get a load of work done, as you are not focusing on what you need to do next or where did you put that number for that guy? You will remain focused on the task at hand and complete in a timely manner.
