There are many misconceptions about working at home that people will voice their opinion on. Many people believe there is no such thing as working at home. Their mindset is unless you work for a corporation, you really do not have a job. These comments will be hurtful, but here are some tips to remain confident that you have made the right decision in becoming a work at home mom.

Many people have never explored the possibilities of working at home. Many believe there is no way to earn an income from home. They have not spent any time researching the subject. They are certain the only work at home positions offered are those that will scam you. In reality, these people are only trying to protect you. They are not trying to be rude and insensitive, simply looking out for your best interest.

If the person providing this unsolicited advice is not likely to be seen again in the near future; simply try to ignore the comments they provide. On the other hand, if the person is seen on a regular basis, simply educate them on the business you have started. Explain to them the process you have in place, how much you enjoy the work and being home with the kids, and why you chose to work at home rather than landing a job in the corporate arena.

Once the critic is thoroughly educated about the fact that working at home is truly a viable option, the comments should stop. If they truly are looking out for your best interest they should should be supportive of your decision to work from home. As you become more successful, they too will wish they had the courage to leave the corporate arena and work from home as well.

Do not let anyone, no matter how close of a relation they are, make you feel less worthy for working at home. If you are a work at home mom and are contributing to you family, you are an excellent role model for your children. The children will appreciate that you are there for them, and no one has the right to take this away from you. As long as you are content and earning what you need from home, it simply is no one else's concern, how you are doing it. If you remain positive, you will be more successful in every aspect of your life.
